Research
Research of five practitioners that has informed my ideas, drawing or material practice in this unit.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park Drawing Tasks
During our visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park we were given three tasks:
Task 1: (8 mins each drawing): Draw the SAME object/location from five DIFFERENT angles.
Task 2: (8 mins each drawing): Draw same object using FIVE different media
Task 3: (10 mins each drawing): Draw same object using THREE different styles

Drawing of ideas:
To be able to throw I needed a rough idea of what to make my shape into. Here are some very rough and basic drawing/sketches I did to help me when throwing.
Inspirated from Jono Smart. A very basic and 'clean' shape.

Reflection on the unit
150 word reflection on the unit that addresses the following question:
How did your practitioner research inform your approach to material practice?
After the visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park I researched into various artists but always at the back of my mind was Henry Moore. I had taken a photograph of his work as well as doing Learning Outcome 3 from one of his pieces. When going into the workshops, I decided I wanted to try and incorporate his design, specifically the piece i had photographed, into my own work. In plaster it was much easier to do because it was more self guided as opposed to ceramics where we were set restricted tasks that didn't allow for much personal exploration. In plaster i tried to mimic the curves and the nature of the lines and how those lines and curves interact within his work. This was much more prevalent in my whole and competed turned plaster block rather than after the block had been cut as well as the slip pieces.
